Phoenix Palace Hotel Beijing is just a few blocks away from the famous Rear Lake. Rear Lake or Houhai is one of the three lakes in Shichahai.  The lakes are collectively known as the "Back Lakes" because of it's location.  It is a historic scenic area ocated to the north-west of the Forbidden City and Beihai Lake.
